Market reform options for the Italian power system

In its draft national energy and climate plan, Italy set ambitious targets for increasing the share of renewable energy and committed to closing all coal plants by 2025. The government has also since implemented a capacity market. In a new study, RAP illustrates how this capacity market will likely lead to overprocurement, carbon lock-in and excessive costs for consumers. 15 gaps identified in policy implementation of Article 7 Energy Efficiency Directive

As part of the Horizon 2020 project ENSMOV, RAP led a new report identifying 15 gaps in the design, implementation, monitoring, reporting and verification of energy efficiency programmes in EU Member States under Article 7 of the Energy Efficiency Directive. By sharing knowledge and developing resources and tools, the project aims to help the countries achieve the energy efficiency savings targets set out in the directive. |
